cuteness overload.

Hello friends.

Sorry I've been a little m.i.a. this past week, it's been a busy one in terms of work and classes.  Fortunately for me the University is now closed for "Fall" break, which means freedom from night classes for almost a full month + a little bit of extra downtime for this chica to get back on track and recharge.

There are so many exciting things happening in my life right now that I can't wait to share, but for now I'll have to leave you with an extreme cuteness overload for your weekend.

Can I just preface this by saying that these pictures make me feel so blessed and thankful to live where I do?

It's been four years and sometimes I still have to pinch myself !

And, I can't forget about this poor guy!
I couldn't decide whether this was adorable or super sad, so I settled on adorable and super sad.
Sometimes I have trouble deciding whether I should support zoos altogether,
but I suppose that's a question for another day.

At least he's getting some publicity out of it ;)

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

  3. I LOVE your pictures! I can't even tell you how envious I am!

Having been a zookeeper, I am still conflicted on the whole "zoo" issue. I think most zoos have a great mission, but sometimes they don't have the funding to support that mission as they would like. I know all the keepers I worked with wanted the best for their animals and cared for them deeply, but I'll tell you, seeing elephants roaming free in SA, and returning to seeing them penned up at the zoo was part of the reason I left the field.

YOU ARE HOLDING A BABY LION.
that's not something that happens everyday.
    I'm jealous. :)

  5. I am so torn with that issue too. I think it is so sad that some of those animals don't get to experience being free, but I love visiting the zoo and think it is great education and wonderful that we get to see animals which we wouldn't usually see up close.

  13. Yep that's a true cuteness overload :)

I know how you feel about zoos, I feel the same way. For me it depends on the zoo. Because we can't forget they do a lot of good things to! Wildlife preserve and educating us : For me it depends on the conditions the animals live in.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

  14. Shame, that one cub was sooo tired! They are quite lazy hey. I've driven past the zoo countless of times, but I have never been in there. I think the big sign that says snakes and reptiles might have put my family and Flip off of ever stopping there. haha

  16. Oh. My. God that is SO cute! Aw! They are so adorable, although I'm also torn on the whole concept of zoos. I recently read a really heartbreaking article about dolphins, how they hate being in pools and not being able to swim lond distances in the sea so I've decided I'm def not going to any waterparks again.
